About

History
-
Misunderstood is a streetwear movement established in 2015 by Xolani Nojekwa during his
second year of studying Marketing Management. This movement serves as a reflection of
individuals who are often judged, misunderstood, or misled, yet ultimately rise to achieve
greatness. -
Misunderstood’s core mission is to empower the new generation to pursue
greatness, regardless of how society perceives them. It encourages people to embrace their
individuality, stand out, and, most importantly, stay true to themselves. -
One of Misunderstood’s key initiatives is the *You Are Not Alone* campaign, launched in 2018.
This campaign aims to raise awareness about mental health issues, including depression,
anxiety, and other challenges, fostering a sense of community and support for those who may
feel isolated or misunderstood. Through its message and initiatives, Misunderstood continues to
inspire people to overcome societal barriers and strive for their best selves.
